Coming up on the next edition of Outbeat News In Depth…

robbie rogers glsenIn February of 2013, professional soccer player Robbie Rogers retired from soccer and, at the age of 25, came out as a gay man.  He was embraced by his family and colleagues in soccer so much so that he returned to the sport as a member of the LA Galaxy.   He is the first male professional athlete in the United States to come out and is now a wonderful role model for athletes everywhere.  In November, Robbie Rogers released his memoir, titled, “Coming Out To Play.”  Robbie joins us this month a conversation about his experience.

We’ll also introduce you to Pastors Oby Ballinger and Javen Swanson, both gay, and married.  Many LGBT people left their faiths after coming out, but these two men found peace with their faith, their sexuality, and with each other.  Both men will share their ideas about how to reconcile faith with sexuality.
