Coming up on the next edition of
Outbeat News In Depth…

Hate crimes targeting LGBTQ people are on the rise.  This month we take an in depth look at what is happening with hate crimes in the United States with special guest Cynthia Deitle, a former F.B.I. agent who specialized in hate crimes investigations and enforcement of the 2009 Shepard-Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

We will also talk with Okan Sengun, the executive director and co-founder of the LGBT Asylum Project in San Francisco.  This amazing organization is helping LGBTQ immigrants traverse the complicated process of obtaining asylum here in the United States.

Don’t forget you can now hear the weekly Outbeat News segment on Monday mornings during Morning Edition and in the evening during All Things Considered, but only on KRCB Radio 91.

Outbeat Radio Celebrates The 50th Anniversary Of Stonewall With
Making Gay History

2019 marks 50 years since the riots at New York’s Stonewall Inn! We are celebrating this milestone on every Outbeat Extra this year in partnership with author and founder of MakingGayHistory.com, Eric Marcus.  He will share interviews he did with icons from LGBT history.  Their stories are fascinating and they reveal a history that has been left out of the history books. Join us at 8PM on the fifth Sunday in March, June, September and December.
