Show Notes – May 25, 2014

sonomacountypridePride 2014 celebrations here in the North Bay start next month and we have all of the details you need right here.  Stephen Zollman talks about how he jumped in to put this year’s Sonoma County Pride celebration together with support from the Guerneville Chamber of Commerce.  Ian Stanley joined us to talk about the plans for Napa Valley Pride – a two-week celebration that will include a picnic, youth dance, adult dance, and many other fun activities for everyone.

On this month’s Outbeat Youth segment, we talked with three youth bloggers from the Matthew Shepard Foundation’s “Matthew’s Place.”  Shayna Hubert, Nick Norton, and Kadeem McMillon are three of the regular bloggers on MatthewsPlace.com.  They each talked about what inspires them to write and about some of the topics they include.  All three are amazing young people who learned the story of Matthew Shepard and were moved to make a difference for other LGBT youth.

This month’s show includes a special 10-minute Outbeat Moment In History that aired ten minutes before this month’s show.  This segment features the unveiling of the Harvey Milk stamp at a special ceremony that took place at the White House on May 22, 2014 – what would have been Harvey Milk’s 84th birthday.
