A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that new HIV diagnoses among gay and bisexual men between the ages of 13 and 24 increased by a staggering 132.5 percent between 2001 and 2011, But the annual diagnosis rate for the general American population dropped by a third over the same time period.

Since 1983, Face to Face has addressed the ever-changing challenges presented by the HIV epidemic in Sonoma County. There mission is ending HIV in Sonoma County while supporting the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS. This month, Meghan Murphy and Dennis Agnos from Face to Face joined us to talk about the latest in HIV testing, treatment and prevention.
Face To Face is a local non-profit organization that depends on the donations from the local community to provide the services they do including free an anonymous HIV testing. Dennis talked about the upcoming annual funding raising event, Art For Life, that will take place on September 6, 2014, 2PM, at the Sebastopol Center For The Arts.
On this month’s Outbeat Youth segment, Jaime Moreno was on to talk about the Blood Drive he coordinated in Santa Rosa as part of a national protest against the current FDA policy prohibiting gay men from donating blood.
